My Application Film
No. TakeTen Season 2 is about web series making.
No. You can only use a mobile phone to shoot your
application video.
No. You need to shoot your 2-minute video in landscape
mode. Else, your application will be rejected.
You will have to make an account on YouTube and upload your 2 minute
application film as an unlisted video. You then need to paste this unlisted link on the
application form
No. Application videos need to be less than 120 seconds
in totality, including opening title and end credits, to
be eligible.
Absolutely! Your application can be in the language of your choice -
as long as you have a translated copy in English attached and your application video
has English subtitles, you’re fine.
No. It cannot be an animation-led film. You would need to
shoot the video on your phone on the theme ‘TIME’.
Sign in to your YouTube Account to upload a video. Once you upload your video
with the necessary details,
click next. After the video is uploaded, you will find the option of visibility. Click unlisted and
save the settings.
My Application Form
You can only apply through this website. Applications will open on 21st
September
from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. You will be required to fill out an online form, submit a 2-min video on the
topic ‘Time’ (shot on your phone), a logline for the series, and summary for your pilot.
Sorry but the programme is only open for Indian citizens
that are residing in India.
You must be 18 years of age on the day of application for
the competition.
No, your application video and proposed web series idea should be created for TakeTen and not be
available for public viewing. We only accept unlisted YouTube links in the application.
We will only consider one idea per application.
No. All ideas will be deleted if not selected by the
curatorial panel.
Some basic level of film/series form understanding and comprehension is required. However the
programme is open to amateurs as well.

Post-Selection Process
The workshops will take place virtually. Stable internet connection is
recommended. The sessions will take place over a commonly used video calling platform.
As you progress through the rounds, you will be informed via email and
through our website/social media communication.
No, you need to make the pilot episode based on your web series idea on the
theme ‘TIME’ in INR 12 Lakhs, inclusive of taxes, if selected.
No, you will get a chance to pitch your web series idea along with the pilot
episode to Netflix. Post which the stages would be determined through Netflix India's discretion.
Else, you can pitch the web series idea along with the pilot episode to other OTT platforms.
It is mandatory for creators to have 50% of their crew
from underrepresented groups, while filming their pilot
episode. (Underrepresented groups include: Women, People
with disabilities, Members from LGBTQ+community, Scheduled
Caste & Scheduled Tribe)
No, you will get INR 12 Lakhs to develop your pilot
episode.
Yes, the participants will be expected to maintain a
budget sheet with all supporting documentation as well as
bills and report to your consulting producer.
General Information
Both Netflix and Film Companion strongly believe in the importance of
promoting emerging filmmakers with unique voices. We also recognise that many emerging filmmakers
struggle with finding the right resources and visibility to enable them to fully unleash their
talents and develop their creative careers. This programme is a step towards reducing this gap and
enabling these storytellers to showcase their content to a large audience.
The programme is open to emerging web series creators who
are citizens and residents of India. We would like this
group of talents to be truly inclusive, no matter what
your language, race/ethnicity, caste, gender, or sexual
orientation.
Led by Film companion and Netflix, selection will be done by a curatorial
team composed of industry experts from across India. Meet our
curators.
Each of the 5 finalists will receive a funding INR
12,00,000/- inclusive of taxes to develop, shoot and
post-produce the pilot episode of their web series which
has a chance of being featured on the Netflix India
YouTube channel. They will also get a chance to pitch
their web series idea along with their pilot episode to
Netflix India. If selected, their series will be created
for Netflix India. Otherwise, the creators have a chance
to take their web series to other OTT platforms. In
addition, each of the 5 finalists will have access to
workshops to hone their craft by the best in the business.
Each of the 5 finalists will receive a funding of INR
12,00,000/- incl taxes to develop, shoot, and post-produce
the pilot episode of their web series. They will be
assigned a consulting producer. Within each web series' budget,
teams must ensure that the creator and everyone involved
in the production is fairly paid.
